Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Marina studied Philology of Germanic Languages and Linguistics when she created her passion for Translating, Interpreting, Bilingualism and code-switching. Having worked for the Ministry of Justice as an interpreter, intermediary and an enforcement officer, she identified the need to train further in Speech and Language Therapy, as statistically young people with Speech, Language and Communication needs are more likely to develop poor social skills, behavioural difficulties and mental illness.
Since qualifying Marina has worked across forensic Rehabilitation Hospitals, Low- and Medium- Secure Forensic Wards supporting service users with language and communication skills as well as contributing to Multidisciplinary team discussions alongside Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Learning Disability and Mental Health nurses gaining valuable experience in person-centred and evidence based care.
Current caseload consists of children, young people and adults with various needs.

Marina is a member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and has participated in ‘Learning Disability Priority Setting’ research as a practising clinician with the in-patient Forensic Learning Disability focus group, identifying further areas of research.
She continues to develop her professional skills via attendance of Special Interests Groups, training and relevant courses.
