Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Anna has been working as a Speech and Language Therapist since 2012, initially in the NHS, and later as an independent therapist. She has experience working across a wide range of settings, with clients aged from pre-school through to young adults. Anna has developed many specialist interests along the way, including autism, social communication in a broader sense, emotional regulation, language difficulties, Down Syndrome, developing and delivering training for school staff, and strategic planning / service models for therapy services. Anna is experienced in contributing to neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessments, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Some of Anna’s favourite work is supporting young people who are differently wired to decipher and navigate the social world, reflect on how their own and others’ social minds work, manage related anxieties, achieve their own goals and feel good about themselves. She draws heavily on her learnings from the Social Thinking ® methodology – always through a neuroaffirmative lens, the work of Dr Barry Prizant, Dr Dan Sielgel, Dr Ross Greene, and the teachings of each of the young people she has had the privilege of working with.
Anna works collaboratively with parents, school staff, and professionals from other disciplines in order to provide the best possible support for the young people she works with.
She spends her non-working days chasing after her young daughter.
